Terms & Conditions
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 5 September 2026
1. What Nidhi Is
Nidhi is a record-keeping tool that helps chit fund managers track members, payments, auctions, and hand loans, and gives their members a way to view their own records through a personal passbook link.
Nidhi is a software tool only. It does not run, manage, finance, guarantee, or take part in any chit fund itself.
2. What Nidhi Is Not
Nidhi is not a chit fund company, a financial institution, a bank, a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC), a registrar of chits, or a legal or financial advisor.
Nidhi does not hold, transfer, or have access to any money involved in any chit fund. All payments described in the app are recorded by the manager as having taken place outside the app, between real people, using their own means (cash, UPI, bank transfer, or otherwise).
3. Your Responsibility as a Manager
If you use Nidhi to manage a chit fund, you are solely responsible for ensuring that your chit fund complies with all applicable laws, including the Chit Funds Act, 1982, and any state-specific rules that apply to you. This includes, where required, obtaining proper registration and sanction from the relevant State Government or Registrar of Chits before commencing or conducting a chit.
Nidhi does not verify, confirm, or guarantee that any chit fund created or tracked using the app is legally registered or compliant with any law. Using Nidhi to record a chit fund does not make that chit fund legal, and does not substitute for any registration or approval required by law.
4. Your Responsibility as a Member
If you are a member viewing your passbook, the information shown reflects what your manager has recorded. Nidhi does not independently verify the accuracy of any payment, dues, or auction record. If you believe something shown to you is incorrect, please contact your manager directly.
5. No Liability for Disputes or Losses
Nidhi, and the individual or team who builds and maintains it, are not responsible for:
• Any dispute between a manager and a member, or between members, regarding payments, auctions, or any other matter.
• Any financial loss, whether caused by a manager, a member, a technical issue, or any other reason.
• Any chit fund that is found to be unregistered, non-compliant, or otherwise unlawful.
• Any action taken by a government authority, Registrar of Chits, or law enforcement in relation to any chit fund tracked using the app.
Nidhi is provided as a tool to help with organisation and record-keeping. It does not guarantee the legality, safety, or outcome of any chit fund.
6. Your Data
How your information is collected, stored, and protected is described in full in our Privacy Policy. By using Nidhi, you also agree to the terms described there.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Nidhi to:
• Knowingly record or facilitate fraudulent activity.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or authority to manage a chit fund.
• Attempt to interfere with, damage, or gain unauthorised access to Nidhi's systems or other users' data.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time, particularly if there is a meaningful change to how Nidhi works. When a significant change is made, you will be asked to review and accept the updated terms again before continuing to use the app. Continued use after a minor update constitutes acceptance of that update.
9. Ending Your Use of Nidhi
You may stop using Nidhi and delete your account at any time. You may also reset or export your data at any time using the tools available in the app. We may suspend or end access to Nidhi for any account found to be in violation of the Acceptable Use section above.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from the use of Nidhi will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
